YogaShalaAtlanta.com strives to provide an authentic and pure presentation of Hatha yoga, the yoga of our ancestors under which all forms of physical posture (asana) practices reside. Beyond complementing and elevating your practice with demonstrations of different asanas, the equally important purpose of this website is to facilitate understanding of the philosophy that serves as the foundation of all yoga. Additional resources related to pranayama, Dhyana and shat karma are also presented.
My own personal journey as a yoga practitioner began in 2008 in Nepal. It was there that I commenced the intensive “5 Year Self-Transformation and Leadership Program” of Dr. Yogi Vikasananda. Over the course of this yoga program, I learned the asana, pranayama, dhyana, shat karma, and philosophy of yoga. This extraordinary foundation was built upon with the teachings of Mahabharat. The life changing insights I received over the course of this period led me to a great spiritual awakening, in addition to improving many aspects of my personal life. From here I was initiated into the ancient alternative healing therapy of Reiki by Guruma Kamaleshwari. Under her supervision, I attained Reiki Levels I, II and III.
My spiritual journey continued with a Yoga Alliance Teachers Training followed by a 200-hour Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training in Mysore, India in 2016. From this point forward, yoga has been my personal and professional passion. I taught at various yoga schools and studios in Nepal, and further immersed myself with a 500-hour Yoga Teachers Training.
Yoga has transformed my life. The feelings of joy and contentment are blessings I am compelled to share with others. Believing, as I do, that the spiritual insights offered by yoga improve lives, I know it is possible to make the world a better place. YogaShalaAtlanta.com is my invitation to you to transform your body and your life too.
